Compatible Filters
PUR and PUR PLUS Pitcher filters are compatible with all PUR Pitcher and Dispenser models.
How to Set Up
To setup and start using your pitcher, follow these basic steps, watch the video or refer to your owner’s manual.
PUR Plus
- Soak the filter in cold water for 15 minutes.
- Hand wash your pitcher, lid, pour tray and removable filter cover (select models only) with mild, soapy water. Rinse well.
- Hold filter under cold running tap water for 10 seconds. Allow excess to drain.
- Attach removable filter cover (select models only). Twist counterclockwise to lock.
- Insert the filter into the pour tray and push down and twist clockwise to lock.
PUR Basic
- Rinse filter under cold water for 15 seconds.
- Hand wash your pitcher, lid, pour tray and removable filter cover (select models only) with mild, soapy water. Rinse well.
- Attach removable filter cover (select models only). Twist counterclockwise to lock.
- Insert the filter into the pour tray and push down. Twist clockwise to lock.
How to Install or Replace a Filter
To setup install or replace a filter in your pitcher, follow these simple steps or watch our video.
If you have a PUR Plus filter, soak the filter in cold water for 15 minutes. Then hold the filter under cold running tap water for 10 seconds. Allow excess to drain.
If you have a PUR basic filter, rinse filter under cold water for 15 seconds.
Insert the filter into the tray. Push down and twist clockwise to lock. If you have done this prior to putting the tray in the pitcher, you can firmly hit the bottom of the filter to assure it is in place.
How do I clean my pitcher?
Hand wash your pitcher, lid, pour tray and removable filter cover (select models only) with mild, soapy water. Rinse well.
Many of our pitcher and dispenser parts are also dishwasher safe. Check your manual for which parts can be washed in your dishwasher. If your pitcher has a change filter light, it will need to be removed prior to dishwashing. Watch our video on how to remove the change filter light.
How do I reset the filter change light?
Reset your Filter Change Light every time you replace your filter. To reset, press and hold the Filter Change Light for 5+ seconds.
Please note that the filter change light contains a non-replaceable battery. The battery will eventually stop working but the filter is still functional.
The Filter Change Light is an easy way to see when it is time to change your filter. Your light will change from green to yellow, and from yellow to red. This will inform you that your filter has reached the end of life at approximately 40+ gallons over 2 months of time.
What do I do if the light on my pitcher is out?
If the light on your pitcher is out, hold the reset button down for 5+ seconds. Please note that the filter change light contains a non-replaceable battery. The battery will eventually stop working but the filter is still functional. If it still does not light up, please contact [email protected].
What if the green light on my pitcher isn’t flashing after I pour?
Try following these steps in the green light on your pitcher isn’t flashing after pouring.
- Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds / release when all 3 lights illuminate.
- If normal reset does not work, hold the reset button and continue pressing for 15 seconds until the green LED stops flashing & all the lights turn on.
- Repeat reset by holding the reset button for 5 seconds / release when all 3 lights illuminate.
What do I do if the lid is falling off my pitcher when pouring?
If the light on your pitcher is out, hold the reset button down for 5+ seconds. Please note that the filter change light contains a non-replaceable battery. The battery will eventually stop working but the filter is still functional. If it still does not light up, please contact [email protected].
Can I pour water out of the pitcher if there is water still in the pour tray?
Yes, if there is some water in the pour tray, but not full, you can pour water out of the pitcher without spilling. We recommend not to pour water if the pour tray is full or close to full.
